Rejoice

I had only made about 20 or so Christmas cards but I took them to church last weekend and rather unexpectedly they all sold so I'll have to get busy if I'm not going to be giving shop ones this year. Here's my first one. The sentiment and background stamp are by Paper Inspirations and the little mouse singing her heart out is from the Digi Boutique. I recently discovered that I can use my water colour pencils on digi images by blending them with Sansador and a paper stump - no runny, blurry printer lines at all. Would I have started my collection of Copics if I had known this before I wonder? Anyway I've used both on this card, the red bits are copics and the rest is water colour pencils. Ribbon and pearls are from Hobbycraft.

Sweet Sixteen

One of my nieces will be sixteen this month and this is the card I've made her. I'm actually a bit behind cos this has got to go to Australia and it won't get there in time. Bad Aunty :( I've had my first go at an easel card and am pleased with the results. They're just coming into summer down under hence the bright and cheerful colour scheme. Hope she likes it.
Just noticed that this week's Cute Card challenge is to make a card for a teen so I'm entering.

Papertake Sketch

This first card is my entry to this week's Papertake challenge. I've used papers from Zoe Pearn at the Sweet Shoppe and a sweet digi stamp by CC Designs at All That Scraps. Her name is Birgitta. The snowflakes are a combination of Sizzix and Wizard dies. Coloured with Copics.

I liked this combination of papers and colours so much that I printed them out again and made another card, using another sweet image from All That Scraps. This one's name is Nora. I've varied the layout slightly on this card.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 70

Thought I'd try for a more masculine card for a change, not something you see often on my blog. I've used one of the Moodles from Pollycraft along with Sweet Shoppe papers. The stars were part of the digi kit too, just added my own words. My Moodle is coloured with copics. I had fun doing this one, it's a great sketch.

Couple of Challenges

Now that it's made I think this card is a bit busy. Now I assemble my card completely before I actually stick anything down but some how I didn't see that it was busy till I had stuck everything down. Too close to it I suppose. Anyway it's for the following challenges:

Papertake - Angels or Fairies. I've taken that to mean winged people so I hope my pixie counts.

Truly Scrumptious - A sketch with an Indian Summer theme. Gardening is something I associate with summer so think this is pretty summery.

A Spoon full of Sugar - Distressing. I've inked and distressed pretty much everything here.

Sketch Saturday

Here's my flipped and rotated entry to the challenge. The image is one that Katy gave me and is coloured with Copics. Was really just experimenting with hair and skin colours when I coloured her but she turned out so well I had to put her on a card. The papers are from the Sweet Shoppe.

Scattering Flowers

Lots of reading and not too much crafting's been going on this week but here's one card I have managed to make using another of Mo's very sweet images. It's coloured with copics and uses papers by Zoe Pearn. Not too sure now about all the scattered flowers but there you go, it's done now. tfl

Winter Wonderland Scene

I'm thinking that I need to step up my Christmas card making and the Winter Wonderland challenge is a good way to get the creative juices flowing. I've used their optional sketch and some PC Crafter images coloured with Copics to make my scene. As you can see I just has to get some more colours! Feel like I need a bit of practice with the more detailed shading. Covered the whole thing with glitter and added some snowflakes. A bigger snowflake punch or die is definitely on my shopping list for Stamperama this weekend. Papers are from a selection of Zoe Pearn kits. Enjoy the weekend.

Papertake Sketch

Seems to me that there are lots of really great digital images available these days, this one's from Mo's Digital Pencil. Hers are some of the best imo. I chose this one because I thought it was quite simple and then found myself kind of intimidated when it came to colouring it. Anyway I'm quite happy with the end result. Dawny's sketch was perfect for it. The colours are not real babyish but I had to work with what I had so I chose a sentiment that could work for adults too. Well that enough waffle from me, have a great weekend all.

My First Attempts With Copics

I finally bought myself a few Copic markers. I spent Sunday morning watching video tutorials on YouTube and then had a go. I've only got the Ciao skin tone set so my colour choices were quite limited but I found them really easy to use.

The bear is a Pink Petticoat digistamp. I didn't have any paper that really matched the pink hence the relatively clean and simple card. I'm entering this one to the Cute Card Thursday Eye Eye challenge. The papers on the Miss Anya card are from the Take My Breath Away set of digikits by Sweet Digi Scraps.

I only got a few Copics because I wasn't sure I'd get on with them, now I just need to buy myself a load more colours ;).
