Papers I Never Should Have Bought
Two cards with the same design which I'm entering to the Friday Sketchers and Winter Wonderland challenges. No prizes for guessing which one I like the best. I've had these Basic Gray Wassail papers probably a couple of years. I'm not sure why I bought them, they're quite grungy and I don't do and have never done grunge. All the while I was making it I thought I really don't like this card but now it's made I don't think it's too bad. What do you think?
ETA The trees are decorated with Craftwork Cards card candy and adhesive gems (white card), again card candy and Papermania shimmer dots (BG card).

I love these cards Julie! The second one is my favourite!!!
Both cards are great but I definately prefer the cream.x
Love, Love, Love, both cards, so unique. I'm glad you did both, it just shows what a strong design you've used. xx
The white is gorgeous, elegant and fabulous embossing but - suprisingly enough I prefer the Basic Grey one. I don't normally like red and green together even at Christmas but on this one you have the patterns and colours so perfectly balanced it's just beautiful.
hugs Heather xx
Well I like both cards but actually, placed side by side, like this, I think I favour the one with the DP. I look at this and I don't think grunge, I think natural, rich, earthy tones - great for a guy for Christmas! Your design for both of them is lovely and you shouldn't be so hard on yourself! Warmest wishes, Lesley
I know what you mean Julie, I'm like that with most of my Basic Grey papers, I love them to look at but have trouble using them! These cards are beautiful though, I love them both!
Love Beth xx
They are both lovely cards, but the cream one is by far my favourite. Elaine
They are both beautiful cards Julie but as I love anything Basic Grey my favourite has to be the second one. It's fab!

These are both lovely. The cream is elegant, clean and simple and very you...but the other card is very striking too and the colours are deep and rich and warm! so I like both...:)
Hugs Judy xx
These are just adorable!
Both cards are gorgeous! I love them.

I love them both but I think the grunge one is my fave. Thanks for playing at WW and hope to see you bck on Friday. Marianne x
Hi Julie
Just shows how two cards can look so different .. .. I actually like both very much - but if you asked me which one I would like on my "special shelf" this Christmas I would go for the colourful one.
Great layout too by the way. Stunning work.
Love Jules xx
I love both cards but my fave is the all white one xx
Wow, your cards are fabulous Julie!!, love them both, but the white one is amazing!!
Have become a follower of your stunning blog!!
Take care, Vicky xx
I love both of your cards!!!
I have to say the design is really nice, but my fave is the BG one...love the striped tree...very unexpected and creative!
Hi Julie,
i love both the cards i think the less colourful (as in no colour lol) is sophisticated and the other is equally nice it just goes to show how different they can look with the same design
hope you are enjoying this lovely sunny weather we are having at the mo

This is gorgeous - and i love the Basic Grey one. It is stunning and yet so effective. It stands out. It is beautiful.
I think they're both gorgeous but my fave is the white one with all the gorgeous embossing.

I love them both. I can not even choose 1 over the other, they are both very unique. I would love to know what you used for the green and glittery dots on the tree? Are they buttons with stickles over the centers? I really like the dimensional look they add. Love it.
I know what you mean about grunge! However, I do like your red card, though my fave has to be the white one. The red one is nice, but the white one is sooo sophisticated! Lovely!
I have left an award on my blog for you. Elaine
I think these are both gorgeous. It's a stunning design. My fav is the white one though, for it's simple elegance.
Is that card candy you have used - with added gems? It looks very effective.

Congratulations on you winter wonderland win. You deserve it. Elaine
Not only are these as lovely as I said before but I see they have won you something at Winterwonderland! Congratulations! Warmest wishes, Lesley
Great cards Julie. I think my favourite is the 'grungy' one. I love the design and layout of the cards.x
I like them both but the white one look so classy. Jeanette
These cards are magnificent!
It's amazing that even with the same basic design your cards look so different - and they are both beautiful! I'm totally with you on the grungy thing, but you've really made it work. I LOVE Papermania's shimmer dots, they're so versatile and don't stick up too much which is great when posting cards! x
I love both of these cards- I agree with the person who said the coloured one doesn't really look grungy...more rustic-y Christmas to me!! The card candies as decorations are a great idea!! :)
hugs, Rachel x
I think their both unique and gorgeous! I love how you do white on white cards!
