The Good the Bad and the Not Too Bad

The Good - I set out to make my own version of this clean and simple card by Kristina Werner. I quite like her style. Below you can see my effort - The Bad. I spent all evening on it, much more time than such a simple card really warrants, but no matter what I did to it I didn't like it. I haven't been able to work out what's wrong with it, maybe the proportions are just wrong because I used a square card. I probably won't throw it away, just stick it in the card box in case someone likes it.
Here's my second attempt. I had thought I didn't like the first one because of the white section at the top and because it was just too plain but even when I changed the colours and added patterned paper I couldn't make the layout work. This one is the Not Too Bad one which I actually quite like, probably because I really like the combination of colours. Well there you go, I just thought I'd share some of my poorer efforts. Enjoy your evening.

I have a few flowers to give away. 6 large, 6 small punched from K&Co McKenna paper. If you would like them leave a comment to say so by 6pm UK time tomorrow 11/9/09 and I'll pick a name out of the hat.EDITED TO ADD - The flowers will be going to Amanda, thanks to all of you for your comments and encouragement.

You are too hard on yourself, I like your cards, my favourite is the second one. I do know how you feel, sometimes cards just don't work out like we imagine.
I would love you to put my name in your hat for the beautiful flowers. Elaine

I always seem to find something about all of my cards I don't like. I like yours! Simple sometimes is the best way to go. Is the "just a note to say" a stamp? Love the writing.
