Papertake Weekly - Something Different

The challenge at Papertake this week is to do something different. I decided to have a go at some of these Carnation like flowers I've been seeing in blogland lately. I followed the directions found here. I didn't follow the directions exactly as I used three different sizes of nestabilites rather than a scallop punch. This made a slightly flatter flower than if you use all one size but they're still pretty bulky so I'm gonna have to make a box for this card, something else I don't usually do. But the really different thing for me was making a one colour card with no inked edges. I found this REALLY hard to do, so hard in fact that I had to make another very similar card with inking and sanded/distressed edges. Just regular flowers on the second one so I can easily put it in the post. Can't really decide which one I like the best.

Wow, these are gorgeous Julie. I'll have to have a go at making these but I see what you mean about needing a box! I like both cards equally, the coloured one and the white one.

Two stunning cards Julie!! Love those flowers, they speak for themselves so need very little embellishing!! Think if I had to choose, in that you threatened to confiscate my chocolate(!), I'd have to pick the second, only because I do love the colour and distressing!! Hard choice though. Love Juliexx
